I’ll need to get a better image of this but this should do for now.  This work was originally an image of a female “house-wife” who was situated in the same pose.  The process to create the images in this show was a pretty fun one.  First the original ads were selected from research (mainly online) inorder to locate images of women in “domestic” situations, that today would frankly be socially unacceptable.  Once selected, my wife photographed me in approximately the same pose as the subject(s), and then digitally cropped into a version of the print ad.  I then re-drew the subject digitally (with a tablet) using my photograph, while attempting to replicate the original style in the ad.  It was tough.  I then used projection to enlarge the image and paint onto some old doors (cheaper than canvas and really strong).
